Introducing checklist task due dates 🎉

Our roadmap vision is really starting to come together!

A key feature in any project management solution is task scheduling and in this release we are proud to announce this functionality is now available in Method Grid i.e. checklist tasks can be assigned “due dates”.

Along with a previous release that allowed for the assignment of members to tasks and elements, so our grand plan to build (uniquely) an integrated knowledge AND project management solution has taken another huge leap forward.

This release sees the first iteration of “due date” related functionality; in the fullness of time (3-4 weeks hence), you will also be able to schedule due dates to elements, stages and a grid. The screenshot below shows how you can schedule a due date now – to a task.

Setting a due date to a checklist task

An added feature in this release (many thanks to one of our favourite users for the idea!) is the ability to send task owners a ‘nudge’ email. A handy little reminder delivered straight to their inbox to help keep tasks on track. The screenshots below show how to trigger a ‘nudge’ and the email received by the task owner.

You will also, in this release, find a slightly reorganised home page that displays all overdue tasks and all tasks due in the next 7 days, plus the accompanying notifications to support a feature like this.

As is the usual drill, we won’t describe new features in laborious detail – just dive into your account (or create one if you haven’t already!) and have a play; you will find it intuitive and easy to use in typical Method Grid fashion.

Next up for our fast-moving development team?

Task logs phase 3 – Updating the task logs to incorporate the new “due date” features – due for release 21 February 2020:

  • Update all task logs (my tasks, grid and element views) to show assigned due date
  • Update all task logs (my tasks, grid and element views) to show task status (open, overdue, closed)
  • New filters on task logs –  to filter down to “new tasks since last view” and “tasks due in next 7 days”

Please continue to keep the feedback and new feature ideas coming (there is nothing we like more).

Is there a feature you would love to see us add to our development stack? If so, please let us know in the comments below or email [email protected]
